- Electronic Control Compatible—designed to interface with the vehicle’s engine control system for precise throttle positioning.
- Improves Idle Stability And Driveability—replaces worn or erratic throttle bodies that cause surging, stalling or limp-home mode.
- Suitable For Professional Workshops And Experienced DIYers—OE codes included for quick identification and ordering.
Compatibility
Common Applications (Non-Exhaustive):
- Citroën C4 Picasso
- Citroën C5
- Citroën C5 X7
- Citroën C8
- Peugeot 407
- Peugeot 807
Installation
- Park On A Level Surface And Allow The Engine To Cool.
- Disconnect The Negative Battery Terminal Before Starting Work To Prevent Short Circuits And Fault Codes.
- Remove Air Intake Ducting And Any Sensors Or Vacuum Lines Obstructing Access To The Throttle Body. Mark Or Photograph Connectors For Correct Reassembly.
- Unplug Electrical Connector(s) And Unscrew The Throttle Body Fasteners. Remove The Unit Carefully To Avoid Damaging The Throttle Plate Or Sensor Elements.
- Clean Mating Surfaces And Replace The Throttle Body Gasket If Required. Fit The New Unit And Tighten Fasteners To The Manufacturer’s Torque Specifications.
- Reconnect All Hoses And Connectors. Refit Intake Ducting.
- Reconnect The Battery, Then Perform Throttle Adaptation/Initialization Using An Appropriate Diagnostic Tool Or Follow The Manufacturer’s Relearn Procedure To Ensure Correct Idle And Response.
Installation Recommendations
- Always Replace The Gasket Or Seal When Installing A New Throttle Body.
- Inspect And Clean Intake Hosework And MAF Sensor To Prevent Recurrence Of Carbon Contamination.
- Use A Diagnostic Tool To Clear Fault Codes And Perform Throttle Learning; If No Tool Is Available, Follow The Vehicle Manufacturer’s Relearn Procedure (Ignition Cycles/Idle Steps) Where Applicable.
- Avoid Forcing The Throttle Plate When Handling The Unit; Handle Electrical Connectors Carefully To Prevent Bent Pins Or Corrosion.
Why The Part Most Commonly Fails
- Carbon And Soot Buildup On The Throttle Plate And Bore—Especially Common On Diesel Engines With EGR Circuits—Leads To Sticking, Erratic Idle And Reduced Airflow.
- Wear Or Failure Of Internal Position Sensors Or Actuator Motor Causes Incorrect Throttle Position Feedback And Triggers Limp Modes Or Fault Codes.
- Electrical Connector Corrosion Or Damaged Wiring Results In Intermittent Communication With The Engine Control Unit.
- Physical Damage From Improper Cleaning Or Impact During Service.
