Installation recommendations:
– Before dismantling the old alternator, always disconnect the battery (negative pole) and secure the vehicle against spontaneous movement.
– Check the condition of the drive belt and tensioners; when replacing the alternator, it is recommended to check and possibly replace the belt if it is worn, cracked or pulled.
– During assembly, ensure that all electrical connections are clean and tight, especially the main power cable and grounding, to avoid transient resistances and overheating.
– Observe the prescribed screw tightening torques according to the service documentation of the specific car model to avoid damaging the threads or the alternator bearing.
– After mounting and connecting the battery, check the charging voltage with the engine running; a properly functioning alternator should maintain a voltage of approximately 13.8-14.5V depending on load and temperature.
– After the first few kilometers, check for belt squeaks, excessive vibrations or unusual noises from the alternator area.
