Description
Overview
Durable exhaust manifold engineered for PSA petrol engines 1.1, 1.4 and 1.6 8V, compatible with many Citroën and Peugeot models. The manifold collects exhaust gases from the engine cylinders and directs them into the exhaust system, contributing to efficient exhaust flow, stable engine performance and emission control. Price does not include the lambda (oxygen) sensor.
Common Failures And Symptoms
Exhaust manifolds can develop cracks, corrode, or suffer warped flanges and gasket failures. Typical signs include increased exhaust noise, exhaust smell in the engine bay, reduced engine performance, rattling from the manifold area, or an illuminated engine management light. Replacement is usually required when leaks are detected or when downstream exhaust components are serviced.
Installation Guidance
Designed for fitters and experienced DIY mechanics. General replacement steps: disconnect the battery, remove any heat shields, unplug the oxygen sensor(s) if present, unbolt the manifold from the cylinder head and the downpipe, remove old gasket material, install a new gasket and the replacement manifold, hand-tighten then torque bolts to manufacturer specifications, reconnect sensors and heat shields, and run a leak check. Always use the manufacturer torque sequence and values — do not guess torque settings.
Practical Tips
Always fit a new exhaust manifold gasket and replace corroded studs or nuts. Inspect the downpipe flange and oxygen sensor threads for damage. Perform the initial sealing on a cold engine and re-torque fasteners after a short road test if recommended by the vehicle maker. Note that this product is supplied without the lambda sensor, which must be ordered separately if required.
