Overview
Original Delphi COM2000 steering column stalk switches for Citroën and Peugeot (part codes 96477521XT / 6242G5). This assembly controls indicators, headlights, fog lamps, front and rear wipers, washer jets, horn and the trip computer. Designed for professional mechanics and experienced DIY technicians as a direct replacement for common COM2000 faults.
Functions
- Left stalk: indicator signals, dip/main beam switching, fog light control.
- Right stalk: front and rear wiper and washer control, intermittent and AUTO modes when the vehicle is equipped with a rain sensor.
- Buttons: horn and trip computer controls (depending on vehicle equipment).
- Integrated COM2000 housing ensures correct communication with the vehicle BSI/body control module.
Typical Fault Symptoms
- Wipers operate unexpectedly or intermittent function behaves erratically.

- In some vehicles an airbag warning light can appear due to wear of the clock spring/contact ring inside the assembly.
Removal And Installation
- Always disconnect the battery and wait several minutes before working to avoid airbag deployment.
- Remove the airbag and steering wheel, release the screws securing the COM2000 module on the steering column and disconnect the electrical connectors.
- Fit the replacement COM2000 with the same part number (96477521XT / 6242G5). When the part number matches it is normally plug & play and may not require additional coding; however verify compatibility before installation.
- After installation, check all functions: lights, indicators, wipers, horn and trip computer.
Compatibility
Typically fitted to selected versions of Peugeot 206, 307, 406, 807, Partner II and Berlingo II, and Citroën C5 (I), C8, Xsara, Xsara Picasso. Always verify compatibility with the OEM part number on your original module or by VIN to ensure correct fitment.
