Original SRS impact sensor for Citroën C – Crosser and Peugeot 4007. Part with codes 8651A001 / 8216RX is used to detect impact overload and evaluate the activation of the appropriate airbags (according to the location). Suitable as a replacement for a defective sensor signaling the airbag error or after the event when the sensor was activated.
The impact sensor is a key part of the SRS/Airbag system. In the accident, it measures the acceleration of the body and transmits the information to the airbag control unit, which then decides to launch the front or side/head airbags. Typical manifestations of its defects are the lit airbag indicator, stored error code of impact sensor in diagnostics and non -functional SRS system until the fault is removed.
Assembly and safety: Work on SRS requires increased caution. Always disconnect the battery before replacement and wait for the recommended time, check the condition of the connectors and cabling and pay attention to clean and fixed sensor in the prescribed position. After installation, do the diagnostic inspection and delete the error codes according to the manufacturer’s service documentation. It is recommended to verify the compatibility according to the VIN and the exact location of the sensor in the vehicle.
This part is suitable for cars from the production period approximately 2007–2012 (platform shared with Mitsubishi Outlander I/II). Thanks to OEM of origin, it fits into the existing wiring without additional connectors.
